And I mean this in the most literal sense because there's nothing quite as scary when you enter into a bathroom with one of the doors of the stall slightly ajar with the toilet seat covered....to me, it can only mean one thing (this is only really applicable to a shared public/semi-public bathroom)...the massacre from the previous occupant is either still there..be it visibly or the 'essence' is still lingering around.
So you've basically got two options here, hope and pray the other stall (if this option exists) is available and use that one; or hope that whatever reason that you need to use the loo for can wait and you can revisit this later...when the storm has passed and the calm has settled.
Unfortunately there may not be windows in the office loos...*sigh*
Either that or people should learn to flush...thoroughly. (to the theme of Lionel Richie) ..."onceeee....twiceeee... threee timeeeess..." is really not such a bad thing. More civic mindedness than anything is all I ask for.
